Nautel Expands VX Series In Time For IBC Affair

0

Nautel has brought to market new 8kw and 10kw analog FM transmitters that extend the power range of its VX Series power range transmitters.

The new rack-mount models — taking the VX8 and VX10 names, naturally — are designed to bring broadcasters “a compact, serviceable, and cost-effective option for higher-power main, standby, and N+1 FM applications.”

A modular design separates the transmitter into an exciter/controller, splitter/combiner, and two amplifiers. This, says Nova Scotia-based Nautel, makes it so each assembly can be installed and serviced individually rather than as a single heavy transmitter chassis.

With the amplifier power supplies removed, no individual assembly weighs more than 50 lbs., Nautel adds.

KEY FEATURES:
  • 8 kW and 10 kW analog FM in a rack-mount design
  • Modular exciter/controller, splitter/combiner, and amplifier assemblies
  • Solderless, replaceable PA pallets; front-access washable filters
  • Direct-to-channel digital exciter; RDS, SNMP, presets
  • Instrumentation and control (HTML5 AUI)
  • Built-in audio playback and playlists
  • Icecast, Shoutcast, and HLS streaming inputs, selectable as primary or backup with automatic switchover

The VX8 and VX10 are scheduled for shipment in Q1 2027, and will be featured at IBC and NAB Show New York.
