The town of Muleshoe, Tex., with a population of 5,100, largely relies on FM radio stations from Clovis, N. Mex., some 35 minutes to the west, in a different time zone.
That’s about to change, as a new FM station has been authorized for the community. This future station is trading hands, and it’s our featured deal in the Weekend Edition of RBR+TVBR’s TRANSACTIONS TODAY for Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2017.
In March 2016, an FM Station Application for an Original Construction Permit was granted to Torres Media Group, via an Auction 98 application.
The facility is to be built with an assigned frequency of 93.3 MHz.
Torres has yet to put the new station on the air, and that job is now that of New Star Broadcasting LLC, which has acquired the CP for the new station from Torres.
The purchase price is $10,000, and a 10% escrow deposit has been made to Torres by New Star, an Arizona-based company led by Managing Member Vance Barbee.
As the CP was acquired through competitive bidding with use of a 25% bidding credit, New Star is presently eligible for a 35% bidding credit, as it has no attributable interest in any other communications company.
Torres was represented by Dave Garland Media Brokerage.
