Another Big Week For ‘LiMu Emu’ At Spot Cable

The battle for supremacy among auto insurance specialists, with respect to broadcast and cable TV spots, appears to be titling in favor of the company that has made its mark with a series of commercials featuring a wannabe 1970s-styled cop and his furry, flightless sidekick.

“LiMu Emu and Doug,” the characters at the helm of an ongoing campaign from Liberty Mutual Insurance, and the “Bibbity” baby spots in front of the Statue of Liberty area among the most seen last week at Spot Cable, based on data from Media Monitors.

According to iHeartMedia-based Media Monitors, some 76,800 spot plays were detected for Liberty Mutual.

By comparison, some 53,648 spots were attributable to its chief rival, Progressive.

LiMu is also highly active this week at spot television, as seen below.

Meanwhile, Harbor Freight has substantially ramped up its advertising efforts, going from a niche retailer to widely known shopper destination in a decade. For the week ending March 2, Harbor Freight’s spot play count was nearly 61,000 at Spot Cable.

In Spot Television, pharmaceutical companies aren’t so dominant.

Tremfya is new to the Spot Ten, but other big pharma brands disappear from the latest report.

The big winner? Accident and injury attorney specialty firm Morgan & Morgan, once a Florida regional player and now one of the nation’s biggest law groups in its field.

Sensodyne is also present, as is Panera Bread.
