For a quarter-century, he was associated with radio stations in Philadelphia and, before that, Miami. Now, he’s joining EVP Randy Chase and CEO Carl Parmer at a Birmingham-based owner of radio stations carved from a group of properties once under the Cox Radio banner.

Taking the corporate-level role of SVP of Sales at SummitMedia is Joe Bell.

Bell is widely familiar for his tenure at Beasley Media Group, serving as VP/Market Manager of its Philadelphia radio stations. He took the role at the end of 2016, succeeding John Fullam. From  through Bell served as VP/Market Manager for three Miami radio stations: WKIS (Kiss Country), WPOW (Power 96) and WQAM-AM. The Audacy stations were then under Beasley ownership.

In his new role, Bell will be “key in driving revenue, leading sales teams, and shaping SummitMedia’s sales strategy across its nine markets,” the company said.

Bell will be based at SummitMedia’s Birmingham headquarters, and the company says he has “a track record of success” in revenue generation and expense management.

Parmer commented, “Joe brings a wealth of experience and a new perspective to the SummitMedia team. He’s a dynamic, high-energy leader who, I know, will guide our results-oriented teams to new levels of success.”

Parmer expects Bell to bring innovation across platforms, strengthening the company’s competitiveness and long-term growth across media platforms, he added.

“Success lies in leading with vision, inspiring a high-performing team and unlocking new revenue opportunities across our traditional and digital platforms,” Bell commented. “Summit has built a team of great people — with great products and great markets — that equal great opportunities.”

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Bell is a past winner of the Radio Ink “Radio Wayne Award” for Market Manager of the Year and a two-time finalist for the NAB “Legendary Managers Award.”
