Coming to the 2023 NAB Show at the even-more-sprawling Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall — a newly created “destination” for radio and television broadcasters offering premium educational sessions, networking and special events.
Introducing the “Broadcast District,” which will be staged April 15-19 at the world’s largest broadcast media and technology expo and conference for the first time, and in shiny new digs.
What can visitors anticipate? The show floor features “a dynamic marketplace showcasing next generation technologies, services and solutions to propel the broadcast industry into the future,” the NAB announced late Thursday.
“We are excited to enhance the experience for broadcasters with a centralized location that emphasizes community building and makes it easy to navigate the Show,” said NAB EVP of Industry Affairs April Carty-Sipp. “TV and Radio broadcasters will receive tangible takeaways to help them generate revenue, streamline expenses and innovate while getting insights into what’s next for their business through a tailored experience designed to meet their needs.”
Exhibits in the West Hall are organized around three uniquely curated destinations:
- Connect – Explores content distribution and delivery, from cloud computing to new media infrastructure and innovations to boost productivity.
- Capitalize – Where content meets commerce, including next-generation technologies that are creating new revenue streams and fueling the content economy.
- Intelligent Content – Highlights content personalization using data, AI and automation tools that enable customized and immersive content.
Featured exhibitors located in West Hall include AJA, Amagi, AWS, Harmonic, Intelstat, LTN Global, MediaKind, Microsoft, Nautel, Planar, Signiant, Telestream, Vislink, Verimatrix, Veritone, Vislink and Vizrt.
The Broadcast District includes (with varying badge access for each event) the NAB Show Conference sessions focused on radio and television; NAB Small and Medium Market Radio Forum; NAB Diversity Symposium; NAB Leadership Foundation’s Focus on Leadership Speaker Series; and Broadcast Engineering and IT Conference.
Also located within the Broadcast District is the TV and Radio HQ, a “prime networking destination for broadcasters.” The HQ will be available from April 16-18 from 9am-6pm and features an NAB Member Lounge, available to host impromptu meetings, relax, connect with fellow broadcasters and enjoy complimentary refreshments; an NAB Sip-and-Speak Series of “quick, intimate Q-and-A discussions with the most influential leaders in broadcasting”; a forum for deep-dive discussions and workshops on topics of interest to broadcasters; and a “Resource Row.” Happy Hour Events are also on tap.
It’s a change of pace from the North Hall, a familiar locale for radio and television industry executives that have attended sessions in upstairs rooms there for the last several conferences.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority debuted the $1 billion, 1.4 million square foot West Hall expansion in 2021. The shiny new facility is accessible from both the Monorail station and the recently launched Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, an underground tunnel developed by The Boring Company that shuttles convention attendees throughout the 200-acre campus in all-electric Tesla vehicles.
