For the past decade, he’s been Area President for the Little Rock, Fayetteville, and Fort Smith, Ark., markets as well as the Springfield, Mo. and Wichita, Ks., markets where iHeartMedia has radio stations.

Now, he’s taking the title of Area President for the newly formed Texas/Arkansas area.

What does this mean for Clyde Bass?

He’ll now be responsible for all operations over the 10 markets in the newly formed Texas/Arkansas Area: the Lone Star State cities of Beaumont, Waco, Bryan, McAllen and Corpus Christi while retaining Fayetteville, Fort Smith and Little Rock, Ark.; Wichita; and Springfield, Mo.

Bass reports to Nick Gnau, Division President for iHeartMedia. “I am so excited to add Clyde’s leadership to an already strong cluster of markets in Texas,” Gnau said. “Clyde’s passion for our industry, his knowledge of our products and the success he has shown through many roles with iHeartMedia make him the perfect fit to lead this newly formed Area.”

Bass added, “It’s been my honor to be involved for the last ten years with some of the legendary stations that I grew up listening to here in Arkansas, and now to be reunited as Area President with the team in Texas makes me even more energized over what iHeartMedia provides to advertisers and listeners.”

Bass returned to the radio industry in September 2012 by joining iHeartMedia and prior to that was VP of the EasyCare Advertising Group, an automobile protection corporation based in Richmond, Va. From 1999-2007, Bass served as Market Manager for Cumulus in Jonesboro, Ark.; Lexington, Ky.; and Youngstown, Ohio. For a decade prior to that he was VP of the Media Division of Duke Broadcasting in Jonesboro.
