Inrush Broadcast Services Welcomes a New CEO

CHICAGO — It borrows its name from a famed street that’s home to popular drinking establishments and has established itself as a broadcast technology services and systems integration firm. As of today, Inrush Broadcast Services has a new Chief Executive Officer.

Taking the CEO post is Rob Bertrand, who joined Inrush in January and over the last eight months has been integral in expanding the company’s technical services footprint across the radio industry, Inrush said on Wednesday.

Bertrand’s appointment as chief executive means Inrush founder Mike Dorris will now serve as Chief Operating Officer.

Partner Shaun Dolan will assume the role of SVP, Emerging Technologies; partner Brian Sapp is now SVP of Client Success & Service Delivery; and partner Cameron Boswell will lead field operations as the SVP of Integration & Systems Engineering.

Dorris commented, “It’s incredible how much we’ve grown over the past five years. We’re ready to be more intentional about how we work. It’s what we had in mind when we brought Rob aboard early this year. I’m thrilled that things have worked out so well and that our company is well-positioned to continue leading the growth of engineering services for the radio industry. We essentially started as a group of friends having a good time building studios, and that spirit is still what makes Inrush a great place to work. Now, building a leadership structure that preserves those values while sharpening our strategy is critical as our industry continues to shift. Our continuous growth means we are on the right path as a company. Formalizing our internal structure will help us ensure we can take care of our entire team and continue to meet our clients’ needs for years to come.”

Bertrand most recently served as Head of Technology for American University-owned NPR Member WAMU Radio in Washington, D.C.

It was during his tenure with WAMU that he earned his Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD), a background that complements Inrush’s focus on building strong, intentional structures for growth, the company said.

Before joining WAMU, Bertrand was Market Chief Engineer for CBS Radio in New York (now a part of Audacy), supporting multiple newsrooms, a 24/7 operations center, and launched the CBS Sports Radio Network. He started his career at Greater Media, in Central New Jersey.

“From afar, I admired the reputation that Inrush forged over the past five years and, now on the inside, I continue to be amazed at the accomplishments of our group every day,” Bertrand said. “Inrush has been quietly establishing itself as a leader in the radio industry, powered by some of the nicest and most committed human beings you’ll ever meet. I’ve loved being part of the team this past year. We have an incredibly smart, energetic crew that has such depth in so many different areas. I love how many stations we’ve been able to help at a time when engineering help is hard to come by. I’m honored that Mike trusts me to take the helm of the successful company he’s built alongside incredible teammates. I couldn’t be more thrilled to work with this particular group of people in this expanded capacity, at this particular moment in time.

Inrush product offerings include InrushVoice, which supports calls for radio stations nationwide.
