With veteran media broker Ed Henson serving as the exclusive representative in this freshly finalized deal, a Kentucky-based licensee has agreed to sell its FM radio station to a regional broadcast operation with its headquarters in Jackson, Ohio.
Paperwork has been filed for the FCC for its regulatory approval of a $650,000 deal that would see Greenup County Broadcasting spin Class C3 WLGC-FM 105.7 in Greenup, Ky. to Total Media Group.
Terms call for $375,000 assigned to the radio station, and $275,000 for its offices and studios at 1524 Winchester Avenue in Ashland, Ky.
WLGC is licensed for 12,500 watts at 466 feet height above average terrain. It has a Classic Hits format and the station signed on the air on Sept. 1, 1982.
Total Media Group owns numerous radio stations in southern Ohio and West
Virginia, including stations in the Ohio towns of Jackson, Athens, Portsmouth,
Piketon/Waverly, and Pomeroy-Middleport. The company also is in the process of
purchasing WIRO-FM in Ironton, Ohio, which overlaps coverage area with WLGC-FM.
On August 8, Total Media Group Inc. purchased two FM stations, one AM station
and a translator from Hometown Broadcasting of Portsmouth Inc. and Hometown
Broadcasting of Portsmouth 2 Inc., which had many of the same stockholders as
Greenup County Broadcasting, Inc.
