LOS ANGELES — If you happen to tune to the first episode of the fifth and final season of the FX series “Mayans M.C.,” which airs Wednesday (5/24), you may recognize the individual portraying a member of the rival Sons of Anarchy crew, which is escalating a war with the titular gang on a series described as a “gritty motorcycle drama.”

If he doesn’t look familiar, maybe he’ll at least sound familiar. That’s because this budding star of the small screen has a nationally distributed morning show to his fame.

The air personality-turned-actor is KYSR-FM “ALT 98.7”-based morning host Woody, who helms the ensemble behind The Woody Show, which iHeartMedia‘s Premiere Networks syndicates to stations across North America from the L.A. Alternative rocker.

“This was a totally different experience for me,” Woody shares. “I was a huge fan of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and have been glued to ‘Mayans’ since season 1, episode 1. So when the opportunity presented itself and I found out I was gonna be full patched member of the Sons, I wasted no time growing out the biker beard and pretending to be a bad ass. You know, method.”

The show is available first-run on Wednesday at 10pm ET/PT on FX; it is available to stream starting May 25 on Hulu.
