Former Clear Channel Wisconsin FM Sells

SoldThe Aloha Station Trust, the privately-owned trust company that owns broadcast assets previously owned by Clear Channel is selling an FM in Wisconsin.


WISM-FM is licensed to Altoona, Wisconsin, which is just outside Eau Claire, in the western portion of the state.

The buyer is Mid-West Management, Inc., which is also based in Altoona.

Seven U.S. citizens have an attributable interest in Mid-West. Phil Fisher and company president Thomas Walker have the highest invested at 24% and 22% respectively. They are followed by Richard Record (7%), Pat O’Neill (5%), Richard Trautschold (4%), Howard Gloede (3%) and David Doetsch (2%).

Jeannette Tully, a director of Journal Communications, is serving as the sole member of the trust, created to keep Clear Channel under the ownership caps with the 2007 buyout.

The trust exits the market with the deal.

The price is $970,000, to be paid at closing by wire transfer. The buyer was to make a 15% deposit, to be held in escrow until closing.

Mid-West also owns 14 other stations the state: four in Madison, three in Eau Claire, and one each in Chippewa Falls, Cornell, De Forest, Mount Horeb, Elk Mound, and Watertown.

WISM is a Class C3 FM with an ERP of 25,000 watts @ 276’ HAAT; it operates on 98.1 MHz.
