GavelIf you would like to LEARN more about the incentive auction process, if you are a stakeholder in general and an interested broadcaster in particular, the FCC now has a one-stop website available to provide answers.

And yes, it’s called LEARN, for Learn Everything About Reverse-Auctions Now. The reverse auction is the opening step for television licensees to take in order to participate in the auctions and open the door to sharing in its proceeds.

The FCC said, “The new LEARN website provides easy access to a range of useful information and resources that will help broadcasters and other stakeholders make more informed business decisions about participating in the incentive auction, which the FCC anticipates holding in 2014.  It also offers valuable information about the proposed incentive auction process, and the unique business opportunities created by the incentive auction.”

Key auction issues are illuminated in an 11-page summary put together by the Auction Task Force staff.

Gary Epstein, Chair of the FCC’s Incentive Auction Task Force, said: “The new and improved LEARN website provides easy access to current, clear, concise, and accurate information designed to help the nation’s broadcasters make informed business decisions about participating in the incentive auction.”
