EMF buying FM in the San Diego fringe

SoldNoncommercial religious group Educational Media Foundation appears to be on another buying binge, and it’s latest trading partner, according to broker of record Kalil and Company, is Cherry Creek Radio.


The seller is headed by Joe Schwartz. EMF is headed by Mike Novak.

The deal is priced at $1M cash.

KSIQ-FM is a Class B1 on 96.1 MHZ with 25 kW @ 102’. It’s located to the southeast of San Diego and puts a primary signal into the southern portion of the urbanized area.

According to documents filed with the FCC, the station is already playing EMF programming pursuant to a network affiliation agreement that activated 11/1/13. The NAA is EMF’s equivalent of a time brokerage agreement, allowing it to being programming the station prior to closing.
