Effective Date Set For FM Radio Duplication Rule Return

On June 11, the FCC voted to reinstate the commercial FM radio duplication rule. The rule return, which Republican Commissioner Brendan Carr opposed, came following a petition from the musicFIRST Coalition, FMC, and REC Networks. Now we know the date a rule some see as unnecessary returns.

Ardman Spins A Georgia FM Translator

A 250-watt FM translator serving a portion of rural Wayne County, Ga., is being sold by NIA Broadcasting, the licensee led by Neal Ardman.  The proposed buyer is an entity one-third owned by Bill Shanks, who has teamed with two others that have created Road Trip LLC to take on the other two-thirds of the ownership pie.

An ‘Awesome’ Buy, East of Phoenix

Deleted Kentucky AM Won’t Come Back From The Dead

The Rev. Gerald Parks wanted the license of what had been WEKC-AM in Williamsburg, Ky., reinstated after its call letters were deleted due to unpaid regulatory fees. A 2023 appeal was just denied by Audio Division Chief Al Shuldiner, who declined to further reconsider his decision.

Last Seven Neuhoff Stations Are Sold

It's officially the end of an era for Neuhoff Media, which shared exactly five months ago that it would exit the broadcast industry after nearly 70 years. An agreement to sell its final seven stations has been reached, and it is brokered by Kalil & Co. and Tideline Partners.
