The broadcast ministry led by the Wildmon family for decades is expanding with the acquisition of two FM radio stations in Alabama, one of which is on the commercial FM band.
American Family Association, parent of “American Family Radio,” is agreeing to purchase WKUA-FM 88.5 in Moundville, Ala., and WRYD-FM 97.7 in Jemison, Ala., from Airwaves Ministries.
The agreement includes a broadcast tower in Fosters, Ala.
A $750,000 purchase price has been agreed to by the parties, with Mark Jorgenson holding a $37,500 escrow deposit; Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage represented the seller in this deal.
The deposit is refundable, in the unlikely event the FCC does not approve the transaction.
Class C3 WRYD serves the southern Birmingham area; Class A WKUA covers Tuscaloosa, Ala.
