Roseland Picks Up Two LPTVs In Twin Deals

Roseland Broadcasting, led by Julie Huang and Matt Davidge, is picking up two low-power TV stations in concurrent deals filed with the FCC for regulatory approval on Wednesday. One is in Aspen, Colo. The other is in South Dakota.

A Second FM Coming to ‘Bay and Beyond’ Licensee

One month ago, a radio broadcasting company led by David Rowell signed off on an asset purchase agreement that will give it ownership of a Class B FM located between Victoria and metropolitan Houston, Tex. Now, Rowell's buying a second FM in the region, a 100kw Class C1 property licensed to Bay City, Tex., covering the same areas as the Class B property.

A Reno Combo Finds a New Owner

It's a 1kw Class C AM licensed to Sparks, Nev., with a city-grade signal of Reno and coverage of much of the Nevada state capital, Carson City. It boasts an FM translator with a directional signal pointing toward Incline Village, Nev. Both are now heading to a new owner, pending FCC approval.

Even Better News for Good News: An AZ Closing

In mid-December 2021, the leaders of Spanish Independent Broadcast Network opted to part ways with its low-power television station serving the Valley of the Sun. The transaction has now closed, awarding the property to a company that two years ago snagged a LPTV facility serving Arizona's Verde Valley.

Darrell E. Martin Completes His Austin-area AM Spin

In mid-February, a licensee led by Darrell E. Martin agreed to sell the real estate and broadcast assets associated with a Class D AM daytimer with a 2kw signal from 3 towers licensed to Lockhart, Tex. Now, the transaction has successfully closed.

A trio of FM radio stations left for dead following Hurricane Michael in October 2018 are poised to be transferred to their fourth owner in four years. Based on paperwork filed with the FCC, the deal is a bit of a fire sale, at a value significantly lower than what the seller paid for them prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
