Ave Maria Radio Adds To Its Station Roster

The non-secular Christian-themed radio broadcaster led by President Al Kresta — host of the Kresta in the Afternoon program — has scored a collection of five FM radio stations.

It’s thanks to a donation from another religious broadcaster, and involves four properties in Ohio and one in Michigan.

Ave Maria Radio, pending FCC approval, is poised to be getting the following stations through a non-cash donation from Annunciation Radio.

That’s the d/b/a name for Our Lady of Guadalupe Radio, and the Holland, Mich., based entity is handing over to Ave Maria the five stations — along with a 2018 Dodge Ram ProMaster cargo van; studio equipment; office furniture; and checking and savings less cash needed to satisfy liabilities and a reserve to pay costs related to the “wind down” of Annunciation Radio.

Indeed, Annunciation Radio is bowing out of the religious broadcasting world.

As such, Ave Maria is poised to get the following FMs:

  • WNOC-FM 89.7, serving Bowling Green/Toledo, Ohio
  • WHRQ-FM 88.1 serving Sandusky/Port Clinton, Mich.
  • WFOT-FM 89.5 serving Mansfield/Lexington, Ohio
  • WRRO-FM 89.9 serving Bryan, Ohio
  • WSHB-FM 90.9 serving Willard, Ohio

Other than the foregoing leases and contracts, Ave Maria assumes no obligations and reserves the right to refuse any donation that would result in it assuming any other lease or contract.

For taxation purposes, the following values were placed on the five stations:

  • WNOC: $600,000
  • WHRQ: $400,000
  • WFOT: $400,000
  • WRRO-FM: $300,000
  • WSHB: $200,000
