In November 2015, a new Construction Permit for a 23kw FM radio station serving Texas’ Hill Country was granted to Alpha Media. The station was never built out.
Now, Alpha Media has sold this to-be-born facility to the northwest of San Antonio.
In the small town of Harper, Tex., is KZAH-FM 99.1. Based on FCC data, the station is licensed to serve the towns of Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Comfort, and Luckenbach, and everywhere in between.
But, KZAH has yet to hit the airwaves. Was a move closer to the Alamo City in the works? Was the co-adjacency of Class C1 KLMO-FM 98.9 in Dilley, Tex., an issue?
Those questions are now moot, as far as Portland, Ore.-based Alpha is concerned: It has agreed to sell KZAH to JAM Broadcasting LLC for $125,000.
JAM has paid a 10% escrow deposit — made to Dave Garland Media Brokerage, serving as escrow agent.
The CP for KZAH was obtained through Auction 98; no competitive bidding credits were sought.Serving as brokers in this deal is Guest Technology, representing Alpha Media, and Garland, representing JAM.
JAM is led by President Justin McClure and is a newly formed local broadcasting company that owns Class A KAXA-FM 103.7 in Mountain Home, Tex. JAM acquired the property in July 2017.
