An AM/FM combo serving Joplin, Mo., and an FM translator giving that kHz band facility a bit of “revitalization” are poised to become the latest possessions of a Pittsburg, Ks.-based media company led by William Wachter.
In a deal filed with the FCC this week for its regulatory approval, Wachter’s One Media Inc. seeks to acquire WMBH-AM & K268CP in Joplin, Mo., and KHST-FM in Lamar, Mo., from Michael Landis-led Land Go Radio Group.
With John C. Trent of Putbrese, Hunsacker & Trent serving as legal counsel, the parties agreed to a $225,000 transaction price.
Real estate is included in the valuation for the stations.
What is interesting about the buyer is that it marks a reinvestment in Radio for Wachter, who agreed to sell KRZD-AM (now KBOB-AM) in Springfield, Mo.; KWKN-FM in WaKeeney, Ks.; and KSHQ-FM in Deerfield, Mo., serving Pittsburg, Ks., to David Murfin, adding them to his My Town Media Inc. operation in 2025.
