After Three Decades Of Syndication, ‘Bob & Sheri’ Take D2C Turn

It’s a pending move that instantly got many longtime radio industry professionals chatting. After 30 years in national syndication, after four years of ratings and revenue success as a Charlotte-focused morning duo, the program today hosted by Sheri Lynch that continues to be branded as Bob & Sheri is making a digital pivot at the end of 2026.

As first reported by Streamline Publishing’s Radio Ink, NOW! Media has notified its affiliates that the show will end traditional distribution on December 31, continuing as a “direct-to-consumer” brand.

Created by Lynch and Bob Lacey, her male co-host retired from the daily program at the end of January 2025. Taking a cue from other programs that had seen key personalities retire (or, in the case of The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, pass away unexpectedly), the Bob & Sheri name continued with Lynch at the helm alongside team members Lamar Richardson, Max Sweeten, and Kary Bowser.

Explaining the shift in distribution and away from its roughly 50 broadcast radio affiliates, Lynch noted, “We have been closely following the data from Edison Research, Tom Webster at Sounds Profitable, as well as the research projects we’ve commissioned with Fred and Paul Jacobs, and determined this is the right time to become a direct-to-consumer brand.”

NOW! Media co-founder Tony Garcia said, “It was a difficult decision to make. We were among the first shows to syndicate successfully, the first AC morning show, and the first to feature a woman in the lead role. We have a dedicated lineup of affiliates–some who have been with us for three decades; Sheri and I have determined the time is right for us to bow out. We thank our legacy and our more recent affiliates for their support…We love radio and always will.”

Lynch added, “We have had an amazing run. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting so many of our listeners in person. We’re excited about bringing the show directly to them, when and where they want to listen. We will miss Radio, but we’re incredibly excited about the new chapter ahead.”

Bob & Sheri is a Radio Hall of Fame Class of 2025 inductee.

The duo first formed in 1989, with Lacey joining what was then WBCY-FM and advocating from Lynch to join him as a co-host. That finally transpired in 1992.

The current flagship station for Bob & Sheri is WKQC-FM “K104.7” in Charlotte, owned by Beasley Media Group. Across the U.S., the program can be found largely in small to medium-sized markets, including Albuquerque; Wheeling, W. Va.; Fayetteville, N.C.; Dothan, Ala.; and Stockton-Modesto, Calif.
