An all-Sports station devoted to fans of teams across the Sunshine State “with a spotlight on alumni pride and community connection” has become the new audio home of a soccer team within the USL Championship League. It’s a Beasley Media Group property launched in August 2025.
The new partnership means the Tampa Bay Rowdies matches across the 2026 season will air on WJBR-AM 1010, branded as “Florida Alumni Radio,” in the Tampa-St. Petersburg market.
The Seffner, Fla., based Class B AM radio station bears the call letters of the former WJBR-FM, which Beasley sold in 2023 to a non-secular broadcast ministry. It is the former WQYK-AM and has a 50kw daytime/5kw nightime signal along with W221DW at 92.1 MHz in Tampa.
The Rowdies’ home and away matches from the USL Championship regular season and Prinx Tires USL Cup bring additional live sports to a lineup that already includes football and basketball broadcasts for both the University of South Florida and Florida State University.
The Rowdies’ audio coverage is new, as WTOG-44 had been the exclusive home for the Rowdies since 2024. Now, WTOG-TV and WJBR-AM will share the same audio feed.
