A ‘Refined’ Leadership Structure Means No Corus CRO

TORONTO — The company’s stock is presently trading at $0.12 CDN and its media properties have been bruised and battered across 2024. Now, Corus Entertainment has announced that it has “refined” its leadership structure by eliminating the role of EVP/Chief Revenue Officer.

The move is the result of the company’s “ongoing efforts to right-size its business for sustainability,” it said on Wednesday.

As such, Greg McLelland is stepping down from the role, effective August 31.

This will see Barb McKergow take on the expanded role of SVP of Advertising for Corus. In her expanded role, McKergow will oversee all Advertising Sales, Revenue Management, Research, Advanced Advertising and Data teams.

McKergow will report to Co-Chief Executive Officer Troy Reeb and join Corus’ senior leadership team.

“Succession planning is an integral part of our strategy and Barb is a longstanding and well-known leader who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for our products and our clients,” Reeb said. “This leadership change represents Corus’s commitment to investing in operations and areas that help our partners grow their business through our premium content and engaged audiences.”

McKergow joined Corus in 2019 and previously spent 14 years with Shaw Media, in sales and marketing roles.
