If you happen to be in Northeast Ohio and spot a guy who looks awfully like the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, there’s a good chance it might actually be Brendan Carr. That’s because he’s touring around the region after visiting Central Ohio on Thursday, and today’s touring will include House Members representing areas of the Buckeye State.
Friday’s itinerary includes one of Carr’s favorite away-from-Washington pastimes: chatting with tower crews. He’ll also be in conversation with local broadcasters. These visits follow stops yesterday that focused on drones and public safety matters.
“With President Trump’s leadership and the FCC’s Build America Agenda, we are putting policies in place that will continue to accelerate Internet infrastructure builds and empower broadcasters to serve their communities,” he said.
Hosting Carr are Sen. Bernie Moreno and House Members Bob Latta, Dave Joyce, and Michael Rulli.
On his first stop Friday, Carr joined Joyce at a broadband build. Next, he was to travel to Youngstown for the 2026 Tough Tower Competition. There, Carr will present awards to some of the nation’s top tower technicians alongside Rep. Rulli.
In the afternoon, Carr planned to tour an undisclosed local TV station to visit with broadcasters alongside Senator Moreno. This preceded at planned stop with Rep. Latta at a broadband construction site.
Thursday saw Carr tour the Pickaway County manufacturing facility of Anduril Industries’ Arsenal-1, south of Columbus, Ohio, and visited the city of Columbus’ 911 emergency communications center.
