The President/CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will appear in a “fireside chat” focused on radio and television companies’ battle against “Big Tech” for ad dollars and local media’s core strengths and advantages at Forecast 2027, presented by RBR+TVBR and Radio Ink.
“The Future of Local TV and Radio” will feature NAB head Curtis LeGeyt in conversation with Colorado Broadcasters Association President/CEO Justin Sasso. Among the topics to be discussed are advocacy, innovation, audience engagement, and what’s next in Washington, D.C. for broadcasters.
As President/CEO of the NAB, LeGeyt is the chief advocate for America’s free, local television and radio stations and their network partners. Previously NAB’s COO, he assumed his current role in January 2022. He champions policies that expand access to local programming, promote trusted journalism, and level the playing field between broadcasters and “Big Tech.”
Sasso has led the Colorado Broadcasters Association since 2011, representing more than 300 radio and television stations and advocating for broadcasters at the state and federal levels. A lifelong broadcaster, he spent 25 years in radio, working for multiple broadcast groups along Colorado’s Front Range before owning and operating a Northern Colorado radio station.
Sasso commented, “Local broadcasting is at an interesting crossroads. There are real challenges ahead, but also tremendous opportunities. I’m looking forward to a candid conversation with Curtis about where radio and television are headed, what broadcasters need from Washington, and what we need to do ourselves to remain relevant to the communities we serve.”
