From the Great Recession to the AI boom, one reporter has been covering  the stories that move markets.

ABC News Chief Business, Technology, and Economics Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis joins Forecast 2027 to share her reporting on the economy.

“The View from the C-Suite: Lessons Learned from Two Decades Covering Disruption, Recessions, and Reinvention,” will feature Jarvis in conversation with ABC News National Correspondent Steven Portnoy about what she has gleaned covering Wall Street for two decades, the disruptions of social media and AI, and current worries about inflation and the bond market.

Jarvis is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who reports across Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline, 20/20, and This Week. Her coverage includes the global financial crisis, the Bernard Madoff scandal, and the rise of crypto, big tech, and artificial intelligence. Before joining ABC News, she was CBS News’ Business and Economics Correspondent and spent three years at CNBC covering markets from the New York Stock Exchange and New York Mercantile Exchange.

Additionally, Jarvis co-created The Dropout, which detailed the rise and fall of Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes. She also hosts the No Limits with Rebecca Jarvis podcast and is a Good Morning America Contributing Anchor.

Portnoy has more than two decades of experience reporting from Washington, including seven years covering the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations from the White House briefing room. He is a past president of the White House Correspondents’ Association. He returned to ABC News, where he began his career in 2002, in 2023 after more than eight years at CBS News, where he was a congressional correspondent before reporting from the White House.

“There are few reporters in our business who have covered business the way Rebecca Jarvis has,” says Portnoy. “She has seen it all and talked with all the players. I can’t wait to pick her brain about what’s she’s learned and what her reporting tells us about the evolving economic factors and challenges consumers and financial markets currently face.”
