On Tuesday, RBR+TVBR first reported the signing of a fresh accord with Hearst Television that brings play-by-play of the NBA’s Orlando Magic to the Tampa-St. Petersburg DMA. Now, the team will see approximately 70 regular season games air on broadcast Tv stations owned by Gray Media in three other Sunshine State markets.
The games will air on digital multicast offerings tied to Gray stations in Gainesville, Panama City and Tallahassee that air the Free TV Networks’ 365BLK offering:
- WTGB-TV 34.3 in Gainesville-Ocala
- WJHG-TV 7.6 in Panama City, Fla.
- WCTV-TV 6.3 in Tallahassee, Fla.
The digital multicast stations enjoy a presence on local cable TV lineups in each market.
That said, Gray confirms that “select games” will air on its DT1 station in the three markets, with a final broadcast schedule forthcoming.
“Gray knows that Orlando Magic fans in Gainesville, Panama City, and Tallahassee will love watching the full season of the Magic free, over-the-air,” said Gray Media Chief Operating Officer Sandy Breland, who is a co-chair of Forecast 2027 in November. “This relationship with the Magic builds on Gray’s other successful NBA partnerships and we look forward to continuing to build on this relationship with the Magic.”
Orlando Magic President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman added, “Adding Gray to our line-up will provide Magic fans a direct connection to the team all season long.”
As previously reported, the team plans to announce a direct-to-consumer streaming partner in the near future.
Dante Marchitelli will serve as the full-time play-by-play voice of the Magic and will again be joined by former Magic forward Jeff Turner as analyst. Kendra Douglas enters her fourth season as the Magic team reporter.
