WASHINGTON, D.C. — FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty has been chosen to lead the Commission’s rollout and implementation of the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark program. She’ll work closely with the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau and the program’s administrators as the voluntary cybersecurity labeling program moves toward use by manufacturers and consumers.

The U.S. Cyber Trust Mark is designed to help consumers identify eligible connected products that meet the program’s cybersecurity requirements.  As the remaining work proceeds, Trusty will help coordinate efforts to put the program into practice, engage with stakeholders, and make the label useful and understandable for Americans shopping for connected devices.

“Commissioner Trusty has been leading the agency’s efforts on critical matters, and I am pleased that she will be heading up the FCC’s work on the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark Program,” said FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. “This is an effort that will advance our nation’s security and provide consumers with greater confidence when they bring connected products and devices into their homes.  Commissioner Trusty understands both the importance of strong cybersecurity and the need to make this program work in the real world.  I am grateful that she has agreed to lead the rollout and implementation of the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark.”
