A ‘Fuzion’ Play For Albuquerque

It’s a Class C1 FM serving the most-populated areas of New Mexico from a facility licensed to Bosque Farms. From mid-2007 through April 2021, it was KABQ-FM, and licensed to the Aloha Station Trust.

The trust, created to administer iHeartMedia spin-offs from an Albuquerque station involving Trumper Communications, ended up donating the station to a non-secular broadcaster led by Nancy Epperson.

Now, that Epperson-led group is selling the FM, which will remain a Spanish-language religious station but adopt different programming.

Educational Radio Foundation of East Texas is agreeing to purchase KKTH-FM 104.7 from the Delmarva Educational Association for $400,000.

A $20,000 escrow deposit has been made and is being held by Mark Jorgenson of Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage.

Jorgenson served as Epperson’s broker of record. Her legal counsel is Davina Sashkin of Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP.

The legal counsel for the buyer is Joe Chautin III of Hardy Carey Chautin & Balkin of Mandeville, La.

At present, KKTH is airing “Buenas Nuevas.” However, a simulcast of “102.3 & 103.1 Fuzion” is expected, bringing the Spanish-language religious brand to Albuquerque.

Representing the buyer in this transaction is Greg Guy.
