Apple is building an electronic television guide that will include Netflix, HBO and ESPN, according to Recode. That’s a change from last year, when Apple execs said the future of TV is apps.
A universal guide interface makes sense with recent Apple TV updates, reports Business Insider, which predicts Siri will be a part of the project.
Apple unveiled an Apple TV feature in June called “single sign-on,” so a service like Netflix could connect to Apple’s system in a way that enables the consumer to use one log-in for all the services on the Apple TV.
Just like on the in-car radio display, most people don’t to have to deal with separate apps for everything on a television screen.
