LAS VEGAS — Xperi Corp.’s television-focused consumer brand TiVo will be “entering” the U.S. television market, thanks to a continued expansion of smart TVs powered by TiVo with Sharp Home Electronics Company of America.
Already available in Europe, TiVo OS has 8 partners, such as Sharp Europe, to introduce its smart TVs Powered by TiVo with more than 33 brands including Bush, Daewoo, Digihome, Panasonic, Sharp, Telefunken, and Vestel.
The Sharp Smart TV Powered by TiVo will be the first television in the series to be made available to American consumers, and availability begins in February. Sets are UHD/HDR in 55-inch sizes and come with Dolby Atmos and three HDMI ports.
The TiVo OS platform aggregates content from various streaming services, linear TV channels and sports content, allowing consumers to organize and access their favorite shows, movies, and live events in a single user interface.
TiVo OS also offers natural voice navigation for select smart TV models.
“Partnering with Sharp to introduce smart TVs Powered by TiVo in the U.S. represents a significant milestone for us,” said Ben Maughan, GM of smart TV and media platform for Xperi. “Our deep understanding of viewer needs and behaviors has allowed us to develop a platform that elevates the TV experience by making it more intuitive. We’re excited to bring an enhanced TV experience to Sharp’s consumers in America.”
Visit Xperi and TiVo at CES (Jan. 7-10, 2025) on the showfloor, West Hall #5840, or schedule a private meeting at its ARIA location here.
