As of May 19, the NBC affiliate serving the Cleveland DMA owned by TEGNA will have a new News Director. And, it is an individual who most recently led the CBS affiliate in Orlando owned by Graham Media Group.
Taking the ND role for WKYC Studios is veteran broadcast executive Jeff Hoffman.
He’s inbound from WKMG-6 in Orlando, where he was VP/General Manager. There, Hoffman directed an impressive growth trend at the station against fierce competition from a FOX O&O, and properties owned by Cox Media Group and Hearst Television.
Before joining WKMG, Hoffman held news leadership roles at such stations as WAVE-TV in Louisville and WJZ-TV in Baltimore, WIS-TV in Columbia, and KNBC-TV in Los Angeles. He is a multiple Edward R. Murrow Award and National Association of Broadcasters’ Service to America Award recipient, known for his focus on investigative journalism, team development, and community-driven storytelling.
