British citizen Matthew Davidge‘s politically focused TV venture devoted to “bite-sized videos and informational text” to the “purple majority” has made its debut in no less than 20 new markets — a rollout timed to coincide with the opening on Monday of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
PurpleTV’s broadcast footprint now includes cities in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona — six key swing states in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Content from PurpleTV is also available to those in cities in the states of Florida and North Carolina, it says.
For those with a broadcast TV antenna, viewing is now possible. This excites Davidge, who notes, “Millions of people watch free over the air (OTA) television but only 50,000 go to the convention, so we are going to serve blue, red, and purple viewers by broadcasting the DNC over the air.”
PurpleTV’s market footprint will focus on states where Democrats polled between 47% and 50% in the 2020 election.
Daily content includes YouTuber, podcast host, political commentator, and author Brian Tyler Cohen.
With WWMW in Milwaukee; WBWP in West Palm Beach; and WXOH in Columbus, Ohio each already offering PurpleTV content, the following stations are being added to the family:
