An involuntary transfer of control approval request has been filed with the FCC that would give control of a group of low-power television stations associated with the late Vince Castelli to a longtime media broker.

Dan J. Alpert has been named the successor trustee in Castelli’s “VJC Revocable Trust,” and as such is poised to obtain control of the following LPTV properties:

Castelli passed away on April 6, just 20 days shy of his 75th birthday. His business successes began at the age of 18, when he became the youngest person at Prudential Insurance Co. to be hired as an insurance agent. By 21 years of age, he’d been promoted to a regional manager for a life insurance company. However, media advertising interested Castelli, who shifted to radio and TV sales while launching a wrestling promotion business.

In 1991, Castelli’s mother founded Prism Broadcasting Network to assist him with his business endeavors. Together, they purchased the first TV station for him to run and operate in Rome, Ga., later relocating the headquarters to Atlanta.

In 2003, Castelli created American News Network, a national newscast that provided news programming to fellow independent television stations across the country. He continued to build a portfolio of low-power television stations, at one point managing more than 30 stations in dozens of cities and states.

However, some of those properties were sold in recent years, including a LPTV facility in Beaumont, Tex., sold to Kristina Bruni in July 2025; and a Santa Barbara, Calif., LPTV property sold to Bruni in October 2024.
