She’s known among viewers of FOX News Channel, FOX Nation and FOX Business as a regular contributor and for her written work appearing in such publications as Nexstar Media Group-owned Capitol Hill daily The Hill.

Now, Katie Pavlich is taking a much more prominent role at the Nexstar-owned cable TV network born out of WGN America.

Pavlich has been chosen to take over the 10pm Eastern slot on NewsNation with a new program that succeeds “Banfield,” the Ashleigh Banfield-held program that will be concluding as Banfield steps away to focus more time on her “Drop Dead Serious” podcast. Content from the podcast will be made available to NewsNation, continuing her presence on the channel.

The new 10pm program hosted by Pavlich will focus on the day’s biggest political news stories, and will debut at a yet-to-be-confirmed date in early 2026.

“We’re pleased to give our primetime viewers an additional hour of political news and analysis that helps them make sense of the day’s most important headlines,” said Sean Compton, President of Nexstar Networks and co-chair of Streamline Publishing’s recent Forecast 2026 conference. “NewsNation has always been committed to delivering straightforward, fact-based journalism for all Americans, which includes presenting diverse viewpoints and original ideas. Katie is a seasoned journalist and commentator, and we believe her unique voice will be a tremendous asset to our primetime audience.”

Pavlich added, “I am honored to join NewsNation during this dynamic period in its development, and the opportunity to anchor a primetime program is an exceptional privilege. I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective on the news to Americans across the country, while presenting a venue for thoughtful debate across a wide spectrum of opinions. It’s a front row seat to history – I can’t wait to buckle in and get started.”

Pavlich has spent the last 16 years as news editor of the Salem Media Group-owned Townhall.com. Since 2013, she has also appeared regularly on FNC as a political contributor, as a guest co-host for “The Five,” and as a guest host for multiple prime-time shows.
