The five audio brands serving the Wasatch Front owned and operated by Cumulus Media have a new President/GM, and it is the ex-Market President for the iHeartMedia stations serving Salt Lake City.
Taking the top position, overseeing KBEE “B98.7,” KBER-FM, KENZ-FM & KHTB-FM “Power,” KKAT-AM and KUBL “93.3 The Bull” is Joyce Wirthlin.
“Joyce is an experienced market leader with deep relationships across Salt Lake City, enabling her to bring sharp local insight and credibility to every client partnership,” said Cumulus President of Operations Dave Milner. “She excels at delivering integrated marketing solutions, helping clients leverage our multi-platform strategies that maximize the combined power of audio and digital to drive results. Joyce will be a tremendous asset to our Salt Lake City team and a growth catalyst for our clients.”
Wirthlin added, “I am honored to lead the talented team at Cumulus Media Salt Lake City. This is a significant full-circle moment for me, as my roots in this market trace back to the early days of KBER, The Bull, and B98.7. By pairing our iconic audio platforms with our robust digital marketing suite, we are uniquely positioned to deliver incredible ROI for our partners. I look forward to leveraging these resources to drive meaningful results and lead this exceptional team into its next era of success.”
Wirthlin served as Sr. VP of Sales before rising to the lead role at iHeartMedia’s crosstown stations. She exited iHeartMedia at the end of 2025, ending a tenure at the company formerly known as Clear Channel Communications that started in June 1998 with her appointment as VP/Sales. For 4 1/2 years before that, she was a senior account executive at the Citadel Communications stations serving Salt Lake City.
