Just days after exiting the COO position at LBI Media, Winter Horton has quickly resurfaced across town — as Chief Operations Officer of Meruelo Media.

The news came late Wednesday via an announcement from President/CEO Otto Padron.

It’s a major leadership move for Los Angeles-based Meruelo, owner of KXOS-FM, KLOS-FM, KDAY/KDEY, and TV stations KBEH and KWHY-22.

There are plans for expansion.

“Meruelo Media has enjoyed extraordinary growth in the past few months,” said Padron.  “The task to solidify our LA Super cluster position and continue our expansion is my highest priority.  To achieve this, I’m proud to announce the addition of Winter Horton as our Chief Operating Officer. Winter brings a wealth of experience and a unique skill set to help us create even greater value as we optimize our strategy of growth.

Horton spent more than 20 years as LBI COO. Prior to his time at LBI, Horton was commercial producer and director.

Horton said, It’s truly exceptional to have an opportunity to work for one of the most dynamic and exciting companies in the industry today. I look forward to bringing my years of experience in the television and radio industry to an already incredible management team at Meruelo Media.”

He starts his new role on Sept. 3.
