Week 4: Univision averaging more adults 18-34 viewers

Season-to-date, Univision is one of only two top five broadcast networks to show season-to-season increases among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34


Thus far in 2011, Univision is the #2 broadcast network in this demographic, averaging more Adults 18-34 viewers than ABC (+2%), CBS (+15%), and NBC (+8%).

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among Adults 18-34 and on three out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.

Season-to-date, Univision is one of only two top five broadcast networks to show season-to-season increases among Adults 18-34.

On Sunday night Univision’s “¡Mira Quién Baila!” was among the top 5 programs for the night among Adults 18-34 and among the top 15 for Adults 18-49.  The second season continues to outpace its prior season performance among Total Viewers 2+ (+6%), Adults 18-49 (+9%) and Adults 18-34 (+14%).

Univision was the #1 network for the 29th consecutive Friday night among Adults 18-34 and ranked #2 among Adults 18-49. Univision’s entire primetime line-up ranked as the top 5 programs for the night among Adults 18-34.

“La Fuerza del Destino” ranked as the #1 program Friday night among Adults 18-49 (2.4 Million) and Adults 18-34 (1.5 Million).
Univision’s newest novela, “Familia Con Suerte,” was the #4 program among Adults 18-49 (2.1 Million) and #2 among Adults 18-34 (1.3 Million).

Both the 8PM novela “Familia Con Suerte” and the 9PM Novela “La Fuerza del Destino” delivered more Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 viewers than programs on FOX (“Kitchen Nightmare’s” and “Fringe”), CW (“Nikita” and “Supernatural”), as well as CBS’s “Gifted Man.”

On Wednesday night Univision aired the premiere of its new reality competition produced by Univision Studios and Imagina US, “Protagonistas, el Reality.”  Hosted by Ernesto Laguardia with Laura Zapata, Beto Cuevas and Isabella Santo Domingo as the panel of judges, “Protagonistas” features the search for television’s next rising star.

The premiere attracted 2.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.3 million Adults 18-49, and 820,000 Adults 18-34 and finished within the top 15 most-watched programs among Adults 18-34 and top 20 among Adults 18-49.

The premiere delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of NBC’s “Harry’s Law” and CW’s “America’s Next Top Model-17”.

Univision’s Tuesday night line-up consisted of back-to-back friendly soccer matches including the 7PM US Men’s National Team vs. Ecuador followed by the 9PM Mexican Men’s National Team vs. Brazil.

The 7PM USA vs. Ecuador match averaged 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.2 Million Adults 18-49, and 672,000 Adults 18-34.

7.7 Million Total Viewers 2+ tuned into all or part of the 9PM Mexican National Team vs. Brazil friendly match. The Match out delivered all four FOX “MLB ACLS” games that aired this past week among Adults 18-34 and was the #1 program for the night in the demo.  Among key demos, the match averaged 4.5 Million Persons 2+, 2.9 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.7 Million Adults 18-34.

On Saturday night Univision aired the #2 program for the night among Adults 18-34, “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday).  Airing “Sabado Gigante,” Univision secured the #2 position for the night among Adults 18-34 out delivering ABC (+12%), CBS (+83%), and NBC (+153%)
