CBS Radio’s WCCO-AM made a deal with the University of St. Thomas to broadcast the Tommies entire 2011 and 2012 football seasons.  WCCO’s Dave Lee, the voice of Gopher football from 2001 to 2010, will now provide play-by-play for the Tommies.  Former Minnesota Viking tight-end and veteran Viking Radio Network analyst Joe Senser will provide color-commentary.

WCCO will air its first St. Thomas football broadcast on Saturday, 9/3. The station has long hosted a Saturday afternoon college football scoreboard show that focused on regional football and for the first time in 12/10, carried a Division III Playoff game involving St. Thomas.  This year’s scoreboard show will continue to focus on the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), and feature regional football coverage.

The MIAC is the football home of St. Thomas, Bethel, Saint John’s, St. Olaf, Concordia, Gustavus, Augsburg, Carleton and Hamline, each with a strong alumni base in the Twin Cities.  The Tommies are the reigning MIAC regular season football champions.
