It is the only radio station directly serving Genesee County, N.Y., between Buffalo and Rochester, offering news, weather, local sports, obituaries, “radio auctions” and on-air hosts based in the community.

Soon, the AM with two FM translators will come under new ownership, pending FCC approval.

For a total price of $425,000, Majic Tones Communications of Batavia, N.Y., is acquiring the license of WBTA-AM 1490 in Batavia, N.Y. — plus its two FM translators — from HPL Communications.

This will see the venerable AM and W261CR and W291DI become properties led by James Ernst, with the sale by HPL of the stations. Signing off on the deal for HPL is Daniel Fischer.

A $5,000 downpayment has been made. At closing, $95,000 will be applied to the purchase price. Delivery of a $325,000 Promissory Note with 8% interest will be honored at closing. “It shall be fully amortized over a term of 122 months in monthly payments of Interest Only in month 1 and 2, followed by equal monthly payment of Principal and Interest in the sum of $3,943.15 in months 3 through 122,” the transaction reads.
