For six years, he led Vermont Public Radio, today simply known as Vermont Public.  At the conclusion of 2023, he’ll be stepping down as President/CEO.

This puts the Vermont Public Board of Directors on the hunt for a successor to Scott Finn, President/CEO of an organization that in 2021 merged with Vermont PBS.

The Board selected Senior VP of Development Brendan Kinney, a nearly 14-year veteran of Vermont Public, as its interim CEO.

Finn led Vermont Public through not only a merger, but also a pandemic, historic floods and “a reckoning on race.” He commented, “Two years after our merger, Vermont Public is in an incredibly strong position in terms of audience, talent, finances and infrastructure and I’m so proud of all we have accomplished in service to Vermont and beyond. Now is the right time to find the next leader to steward this great organization forward, and for me to find a new adventure.”

Finn joined Vermont Public Radio as President/CEO in 2018. Prior to that, he was CEO and Executive Director of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, led news departments at WUSF Public Media in Tampa, and was a journalist in West Virginia.
