In October 2022, he stepped in for Jim Bohannon, who retired for undisclosed health reasons before passing away on November 12.

Now, he’s officially been tapped by Cumulus Media as the host of “an all-new radio program” and two different podcasts.

Rich Valdés is not “succeeding” Bohannon, as Cumulus sees it, and is now launching “his own distinct programming.”

This will be distributed by Cumulus’ Westwood One national radio unit, as the conservative political commentator takes the helm of the syndicated three-hour “Rich Valdés America at Night.”

It’s a live broadcast, and will air weeknights from 7-10pm Pacific.

The program will feature “a blend of news, entertainment, pop culture, and commentary.”

Valdés also envisions talks with politicians, influencers, entertainers, and ordinary Americans from all walks of life.

And, in a nod to Bohannon and, before him, Larry King, Valdés’ show will feature an “Open Phone America” segment.

On Saturdays from 6-10pm Pacific, “The Best of Rich Valdés America at Night” will be made available to affiliates.

Meanwhile, The Cumulus Podcast Network will distribute an on-demand “Rich Valdés America at Night,” featuring Valdés’ daily content following the live over-the-air show.

What about Valdés’ current podcast, “This is America with Rich Valdés?” It moves to the Cumulus Podcast Network and will publish each Friday. In this podcast, Valdés breaks down American politics, “taking his listeners on a journey through poverty, prosperity, and politics with humor, analysis, and a dash of sofrito

Valdés is part of a roster of talk hosts including Dan Bongino, Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro, Chris Plante, and Michael Knowles.

Valdés’ resumé includes a stint as an associate producer and regular guest host of “The Mark Levin Show,” and he’s been frequent guest commentator for right-leaning Newsmax TV. Valdés has also been an advisor to President Trump’s National Diversity Coalition.
