Univision announced today it is set to finish the July 2010 Sweep as the #1 network in primetime, broadcast or cable, English or Spanish, among ALL Adults 18-34 (1,102,000) and Persons 12-34 (1,289,000), beating ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and CW for the top spot for the first time ever in a sweep period. This is among ALL viewers, not just Hispanic. Among Adults 18-49 (1,881,000), Univision will end the July 2010 Sweep as the #3 network in all of television, beating CBS, NBC, CW and all of the cable networks, regardless of language also for the first time ever in any sweep period. In addition, according to Nielsen Station Index (NSI), during the July 2010 Sweep period, KMEX Univision 34 in Los Angeles was the most-watched station, regardless of language, in the entire country during primetime among all Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Reported year over year audience increases during broadcast prime among Total Viewers 2+ (+11%), Adults 18-49 (+12%), Adults 18-34 (+17%) and Persons 12-34 (+16%) versus July 2009.  Grew more than any English-language network, broadcast or cable, (vs. July 2009) during broadcast prime among Adults 18-34 and tied ABC in terms of Adult 18-49 growth vs. July 2009.

Out-performed at least one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night thus far (27 nights) among Adults 18-34 and on four out of five nights (81% of the time or 22 out of 27 nights) among Adults 18-49.

Program Highlights: Univision’s 8pm novela, “Hasta Que El Dinero Nos Separe” (For Love or Money) delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers (1.4 million) than the original airings of such English-language primetime programs as:

Univision’s award-winning newsmagazine program “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now; Tuesdays 10pm -11pm) showed impressive audience gains vs. July 2009 Sweep among key demos: Total Viewers 2+ (+6% to 3.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+5% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-34 (+18% to 957,000) and Persons 12-34 (+24% to 1.1 million).

Television’s longest-running weekly variety show in history “Sábado Gigante” (Giant Saturday; Saturdays 8-11pm) delivered impressive double-digit audience growth in key demos, including Total Viewers 2+ (+28% to 2.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+29% to 997,000), Adults 18-34 (+34% to 542,000) and Persons 12-34 (+33% to 636,000) over its July 2009 performance.
