Two ATSC 3.0 Receivers To Bring Datacasting To Life

There’s been much excitement and anticipation regarding datacasting, and how ATSC 3.0 digital broadcast transmission can bring new ROI to television station owners. At the NAB Show, VBox Communications is poised to show off a pair of ATSC 3.0 receiver systems that could attract significant attention from U.S. UHF and VHF channel licensees.

First, there is the VBox ATSC 3.0 Android TV Gateway, a product that runs certified Android TV OS, delivering both broadcast TV up to 4K and online streaming on a local network, using a single box.

Then, there is the XLT, an ATSC 3.0 datacasting terminal offering broadcasters, enterprises, and government agencies a scalable way to transmit data—including software updates, emergency alerts, and industrial communications—without internet dependency.

The XLT boasts multi-tuner capability, 128GB onboard storage, and a dedicated client app for Linux, Windows, and Android.

Additionally, the XTI commercial ATSC 3.0 TV Receiver is being pitched at vertical markets such as hospitality, retail, digital signage, and senior care. As VBox notes, the XTI provides customizable broadcast content with a fully branded home screen — all via ATSC 3.0, eliminating the need for broadband access. “It bridges the gap between traditional broadcasting and flexible, IP-like user experiences,” Israel-headquartered VBox notes.

VBox will be in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center across the 2025 NAB Show, at Booth #W3056.
