The first IBC conference in three years is now history, and it was a good event for Perth, Australia-based codec manufacturer Tieline.

The global broadcast tech company, which services many U.S. clients, earned a “RedTech Best in Show Award” for one of its key offerings at this year’s event.

Tieline received the honor for its Gateway 4 IP audio codec.

The RedTech Awards, evaluated by a panel of industry experts, recognize outstanding technological innovation within the radio and digital audio sectors. Nominees were evaluated based on market relevance, design, business and operational benefits, innovation, technical excellence and cost-effectiveness.

“Tieline is thrilled to receive this RedTech Best in Show Award recognizing excellence in innovation and technology,” said Charlie Gawley, Tieline VP of Sales for the APAC and EMEA markets. “It acknowledges the Gateway 4 codec has best-in-class functionality, reliability and interoperability for broadcast streaming applications.”

The Gateway 4 routes compressed and uncompressed IP audio streams throughout the broadcast plant with native support for AES67, ST 2110-30, ST 2022-7, RAVENNA, Livewire+, AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05, Ember+, AES3 and analog I/O as standard. An optional WheatNet-IP card available at purchase delivers WheatNet-IP compliant streaming, or an optional Dante card installed at purchase supports Dante networking. This facilitates acting as a media converter to simplify audio routing between a range of equipment using proprietary AoIP protocols like WheatNet-IP, Dante and Livewire, as well as devices supporting RAVENNA, AES67 and ST 2110-30.
