The InFOCUS Podcast: Townsquare Media’s Q2 ’22

From a revenue standpoint, it was a record-setting quarter for Townsquare Media, a company “clearly differentiated” outside of the top 50 markets thanks to its digital media, online and internet-focused initiatives.

But, that doesn’t mean Radio is an afterthought or inconsequential for the company led by CEO Bill Wilson. As such, what’s the outlook for the New York-based operation with some 700 digital employees in Charlotte and a West Coast digital outpost ramping up in the Phoenix market?

Analysts on the company’s Q2 2022 earnings call held Tuesday (8/2) focused their questions on advertising revenue trends, and the first question came from Michael Kupinski, the Boca Raton, Fla.-based Director of Research and Media & Entertainment Senior Research Analyst at Noble Capital Markets.

June was stronger than May, Wilson replied. “Right now we’re feeling quite good,” with local pacing upward in both Q3 and Q4 for Townsquare Media.

Jim Goss of Barrington Research also chimed in with a question or two.

What else was discussed during the Q&A portion of the company’s second quarter 2022 earnings call? We’ve put together the highlights, and present them in the latest InFOCUS Podcast, presented by dot.FM.
