The Hispanic Radio Conference Heads To Phoenix

For the first time, Streamline Publishing’s annual opportunity to share ideas, discuss and debate challenges in a multi-platform world, and network in a unified setting is heading to the Valley of the Sun.

The Hispanic Radio Conference is scheduled for May 27-28, at the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort. It’s located adjacent to the Shaw Butte broadcast transmitter site, and just to the northwest of Old Town Scottsdale and the Biltmore area.

With MediaCo on as a platinum sponsor, the 2026 edition of this Radio Ink-presented affair will further introduce the radio industry to a major broadcast TV technology push: the full adoption of ATSC 3.0 digital broadcast signals by TV stations across the U.S., and the transition away from the current ATSC 1.0 digital broadcast scheme.

Why is this important for Radio? In a Tech Talk morning panel discussion on the second day of the conference, Hispanic radio broadcasters’ rising digital competition will be addressed. With Latinos increasingly favoring streaming (49.8% usage) alongside traditional radio (54%), it makes the transition to ATSC 3.0 critical for keeping younger, mobile audiences. This session equips stations to offload streaming costs to efficient broadcast spectrum, supports immersive formats, and opens revenue from targeted ads and datacasting tailored to Hispanic markets.

May 28 kicks off with some of the best legal and policy minds in Washington, D.C., and across the country. They’ll come together to examine recent and pending federal and state policy developments that directly affect Hispanic radio, including ownership rules, regulatory compliance, and public file obligations. They’ll break down key FCC and legislative actions in practical terms and discuss how they could influence formats, political advertising, local news, and community service. And you won’t be billed for the advice and consultation!

That’s just a taste of what’s on the agenda already.
