Pay up or sign off the air. That’s the message being sent by the FCC to the owner of two Lone Star State FMs for failing to pay their annual regulatory fees to the agency.
Kremling Enterprises on Monday received the Order to Pay or to Show Cause from Acting Media Bureau Chief Erin Boone and FCC Managing Director Mark Stephens for its extreme delinquency.
Should it not fork over the funds, a license revocation will transpire, as the process has already begun.
The Commission’s records show that Kremling currently has unpaid regulatory fee debt
for KYKM-FM in Yoakum, Tex., of $1,261.29 for FY 2017; $1,240.67 for FY 2018; $1,273.18 for FY 2019; $1,373.69 for FY 2020; $1,372.94 for FY 2021; $1,483.50 for FY 2022; and $768.75 for FY 2024.
Similarly, Kremling’s KTXM-FM in Hallettsville, Tex., has unpaid regulatory fee debt of $1,261.29 for FY 2017; $1,240.67 for FY 2018; $1,273.18 for FY 2019; $1,372.94 for FY 2021; $1,483.50 for FY 2022; and $1,281.25 for FY 2024.
Thus, a total of $16,686.85 in outstanding payments is due.
KYKM is a Class A FM serving a rural area of Texas due north of Victoria as “Texas Thunder Radio.” KTXM is a Class A simulcast partner serving an adjacent portion of this region.
