The Federal Reserve stated that economic activity has picked up, but that the Fed will keep interest rates low “for an extended period.” That was what Wall Street expected to hear and despite the positive assessment from the Fed, a brief rally faded and stock prices closed slightly lower. The Dow Industrials were down 81 points, or 0.8%, to 9,749.
The RBR Radio Index dropped 0.604, or 0.5%, to 117.929.
The TVBR Television Index was down 2.803, or 2.3%, to 118.594.
