Stingray Radio Stations Join iHeartRadio Canada

TORONTO — Until now, the Radioplayer Canada app and streaming directly from a radio station website were the primary ways to listen to Stingray Radio stations digitally across the Great White North.

Now, these stations, including Boom 97.3 and 93.5 Today Radio in Canada’s largest market, have joined the app that is home to Bell Media’s radio properties and administered by iHeartRadio Canada.

The partnership sees all Stingray radio stations, including Hot 89.9 Ottawa and XL103 Calgary, among others, join iHeartRadio Canada’s roster of stations and podcasts.

A complete list of Stingray stations is available here.

“We believe that our radio stations should be available wherever listeners choose to listen,” said Steve Jones, SVP/Brands and Content at Stingray Radio. “The iHeartRadio Canada platform has proved to be immensely popular and we are thrilled to have Stingray stations join their already exciting lineup of audio options.”

Sarah Cummings, Director of Radio Content for iHeartRadio, Bell Media and Orbyt Media, commented, “The iHeartRadio Canada app offers a seamless, best-in-class experience for listeners to spend more time with their favourite radio station, either at home, on the go, at the office, and everywhere in between. With a vast array of radio stations, podcasts, and playlists, the iHeartRadio app gives listeners more of what they love, and with the addition of Stingray Radio stations, the platform offers more choice than ever before.”

The newly added Stingray stations will promote iHeartRadio Canada on-air, while also continuing to stream on their respective websites and through other apps, making the stations available and accessible wherever and whenever listeners tune in.

Dean Rutherford, Director of National Sales for Bell Media, said, “Expanding our partnership with Stingray allows millions of Stingray Radio listeners to join iHeartRadio. We are excited to bring our robust offering to clients in the coming weeks as we roll out new advanced advertising capabilities complementing our ever-growing monthly user base.”
