NEW YORK — She joined NBCUniversal as a VP in March 2014 following a three-year stint at Univision, and in November 2018 was promoted to EVP of Lifestyle and Hispanic Advertising Sales.

Now, this eight-year company veteran will be responsible for seeking innovative ways to fully monetize the Comcast unit’s Olympic and Paralympic business interests.

Taking the role of Chief Growth Officer for Olympics & Paralympics is Carrie Stimmel.

It’s a major shift for Stimmel, and she’ll be aide by Josh Noval, who is also being promoted and takes the post of SVP/Olympics & Paralympics, Advertising & Partnerships.

Both individuals sit within the company’s Global Advertising & Partnerships division and report directly to Dan Lovinger, President of Advertising & Partnerships.

“Carrie’s passion, expertise and advocacy for the Olympics and Paralympics business brings tremendous value to our team, our clients and our partners,” Lovinger commented. “I am excited for Carrie to lead our efforts as we redefine, innovate and strengthen our existing partnerships and set us up for success in our upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Stimmel commented, “I am more than thrilled to take on this role and reimagine the possibilities for the upcoming Olympic Games. We are all excited to come together, celebrate the athletes and shine a light on what the Olympic movement means to our viewers, our community and our partners alike.”

Stimmel’s role will, in NBCU’s words, “span the evolution and oversight of NBCUniversal’s media sales through the 2032 Games to the development of Sponsorship Sales for Team USA and LA 2028,’ through NBCUniversal’s partnership with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties Group.

In her previous role, Stimmel led sales teams in building One Platform partnerships with an additional focus around Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Universal Kids, Telemundo and Universo properties. The latter properties were a key focal point for Stimmel over the last four years, given her time at Univision. From January 2011 through March 2014, Stimmel was VP/Network Sales for what is now a unit of TelevisaUnivision. Prior to that, Stimmel spent five years at MTV Networks, which included a role of VP/Sales and Marketing for Nickelodeon Kids & Family from 2008-2011.

Noval has over 18 years of experience in Olympic Sales and Marketing and was VP of Olympics & Paralympics Advertising & Partnerships at NBCUniversal.
