The Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act Reauthorization (STELAR) has received plenty of pans across Capitol Hill in recent months. In October 2018, the NAB pretty much said it wants STELAR to die. Under former FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler, efforts to bring parity to DBS providers DirecTV and DISH Network with respect to local TV market modifications seen for cable TV providers was ushered in.
Now, the NAB has an ally in the Copyright Alliance, which wants a STELAR end to the Act.
